The beginnings

Born on 21st November, 1941 at Vienne in the Isère Department of France. Interested from a very early age in drawing, then in colour and painting. Took courses at the local art school before joining The Atelier under the leadership of Pierre Delorme, master painter from Lyons.Attracted to abstract art and cubism, at his first showing at the Spring Show in Lyons in 1956 his canvas was exhibited... upside-down!

Jean Brisé very soon discovered that painting had to be pictorial above all, but its impact should go beyond the visual to touch the subconscious.The work of the artist, in the sometimes difficult birth of his composition, should transform all of his force in order to transmit to others the reflections of this energy, these vibes that are so vital.
